Entry requirements for International Study Centre programmes
If you would like to study an academic programme at the University of Bath International Study Centre, you will need to meet certain entry requirements. These are based on both your academic background and your English language proficiency.
If you do not meet the English language requirements for your International Foundation Year or Pre-Masters programme, you can begin with an Online English Language Preparation Programme.

Academic entry requirements
All applicants to the University of Bath International Study Centre must be able to demonstrate successful completion of a high school qualification. For country-specific requirements, please refer to the tables below.
English language requirements
You will also need to provide evidence of your English language ability. The University of Bath International Study Centre uses IELTS as part of its application process, with programmes requiring a minimum overall score of 5.0 to 5.5 depending on the programme of study. If you need to improve your English before starting your course, we also offer online English Language Preparation programmes. Please refer to the tables below for the exact language requirements for your chosen course.
International Foundation Year
A one-year programme to prepare international students for their undergraduate degree.

You can start your studies with a UKVI-approved Secure English Language Test (SELT), provided you have met all the programme entry requirements.
The test results must have been achieved in the past 24 months and meet the minimum English equivalency score for your chosen programme.

Study Group is permitted to assess students’ suitability for entry onto programmes which are degree level and above under the registration for the UK Office for Students. You are therefore not required to have a UKVI SELT to obtain a Student Visa.
A CAS for a Student Visa will only be issued if you have met the minimum language requirement of CEFR B2 in all skills, and the academic entry requirements for your chosen programme.
