With Bath’s strong emphasis on graduate outcomes, you will gain practical experience alongside your studies.

Expert career advice

At the University, you can get advice and guidance from the Careers Team during your studies and throughout your working life. Using tailored online resources, workshops, group sessions, and one-to-one appointments, the team can help you:

  • decide on and plan your future career goals
  • understand how to search for jobs more efficiently
  • prepare applications, including developing your CV and cover letter
  • develop a professional online presence
  • prepare for interviews and other recruitment experiences through mock interviews and assessment centre activities

Work after study

Start your career in the UK with the Graduate Immigration Route – currently a two-year post-study work visa for international graduates. From January 2027, this will change to 18 months. Study a pathway programme and take the first step towards working in the UK.

You can get support and advice, tailored to your area of study, from a Career Consultant in your faculty. Through them, you can access extensive online resources, including sector briefings and guidance from Bath alumni working in relevant industries.

At the International Study Centre, you can start to gain the skills for career success. Career-focussed activities are built into your pathway programme, and we will help you to expand upon your teamwork, problem-solving and communication abilities, which will help you at university and in your career.
