International Foundation Year
About the International Foundation Year
The International Foundation Year is an intensive 2-semester programme designed specifically to prepare you for undergraduate study at the University of Bath. It includes English language tuition, study skills and an introduction to your degree programme. This programme is designed in collaboration with the University of Bath and is delivered by Study Group.
Once you complete the programme and achieve the required grades, you can enter the first year of your chosen undergraduate degree.
Who should take the International Foundation Year?
The International Foundation Year is designed for international students who need additional support in academic skills or English language to meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree at the University of Bath, or for those who would benefit from a softer start to your university experience.
The programme helps students:
- adapt to the UK education system
- strengthen subject knowledge in your chosen field to progress to the University of Bath
- improve academic English skills with confidence, surrounded by international students in the same position as you
- develop study skills and research techniques with support from tutors who are specialists in teaching international students
- develop the focus and dedication you need to succeed at university
